Polycom Introduces New SoundStructure Features For Enhanced Audio Solutions For Installed Voice & Video Conferencing

Polycom offers unrivaled high-performance installed audio and sound reinforcement solutions that are easy to design and configure with expanded SoundStructure features

(NASDAQ: PLCM), the leader in unified collaborative communications solutions, today announced expanded features and capabilities for its SoundStructure™ series, the first installed room audio solution for voice and videoconferencing applications that delivers truly breakthrough sound quality. The SoundStructure series first introduced at InfoComm 2007, leverages Polycom's proven technology and market expertise in installed audio. SoundStructure solutions are flexible and comprehensive audio systems that deliver state-of-the-art performance and audio processing capabilities for conference rooms, classrooms, and customised meeting rooms. Today, Polycom announces two newly available capabilities of its SoundStructure series:

• SoundStructure, which already offers an easy–to-use audio solution integrated with Polycom's HDX™ videoconferencing solutions, now adds integration with Polycom HDX tabletop and ceiling microphone arrays. Pre-built settings for HDX microphones within the SoundStructure Studio software simplify deployments for videoconferencing or audio-only rooms. It is now faster and easier than ever to create a high-fidelity audio system by simply connecting SoundStructure with HDX microphones and amplified loudspeaker outputs, and uploading a configuration file to the SoundStructure device.
• The SoundStructure SR12 is now shipping. An ideal solution for sound reinforcement environments (e.g. stadiums, nightclubs, ballrooms, churches), the SR12 offers unrivaled audio processing delivering the highest fidelity audio and voice reinforcement. Features of the SoundStructure SR12 include: feedback reduction technology; dynamics processing, multiple EQ options, audio processing on all inputs/outputs and up to 12 submixers. The SR12 leverages the same SoundStructure Studio software interface as other SoundStructure models, delivering the same ease of setup and integration benefits for both conferencing and sound reinforcement environments.

The SoundStructure line is available in North America, Europe, and parts of Asia through Polycom certified channel partners for a manufacturer's suggested retail price in EMEA of US$5,495/€4,227/£2,874 for an eight-channel system, US$7,145/€5,496/£3,737 for a 12-channel system and US$8,795/€6,765/£4,600 for a 16-channel system. The SoundStructure SR12 has a suggested retail price of US$5,055/€3,888/£2,644. Polycom's existing Vortex line of installed audio solutions will continue to be available and supported.
